At Indoor Plant Shop, we want you to be as happy with your purchase as your plants are in our premium potting solutions. If you need to return or exchange an item, our process is designed to be as effortless as watering your favorite houseplant.
Our Return Policy
You may return most items within 15 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return:
- Items must be unused, in their original condition, and in the original packaging
- Proof of purchase is required
- Certain items are non-returnable (see below)
Non-Returnable Items
For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on:
- Opened plant food and treatments
- Used watering and misting tools
- Plants (due to their perishable nature)
These exceptions align with our commitment to quality and plant health standards.
How to Initiate a Return or Exchange
- Contact us within 15 days of delivery at [email protected] with your order number and details about the product you’d like to return or exchange.
- Wait for approval – Our plant-loving team will review your request and send you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number if approved.
- Package your item securely in its original packaging, including all accessories and documentation.

Return Shipping Costs
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped, defective product, etc.). Original shipping fees are non-refundable.
Refund Process
Once your return is received and inspected (typically within 3-5 business days), we’ll notify you of the approval status.
- Refund method: Your refund will be processed to your original payment method (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, or PayPal)
- Processing time: 5-10 business days after approval (depending on your payment provider)
Exchange Process
For exchanges (size, color, or style changes for our designer pots and planters):
- Follow the standard return process above
- Include a note specifying your desired exchange item from our SHOP PLANT POTS BY SHAPE or POTTING, PLANTING & DISPLAY collections
- We’ll ship your new item once the return is processed (standard shipping times apply)
Damaged or Defective Items
If you receive a damaged or defective item from our HOUSEPLANT STYLES or PLANT FOOD & TREATMENTS collections:
- Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
- Include photos of the damaged product and packaging
- We’ll arrange for a replacement or refund at no additional cost
